The word look has many usages. Here are a few general patterns:

 

1. You can use look to say the say thing as seem. In this kind of sentence, look is followed by an adjective (形容詞).

2. You can use look like to express the subject's resemblance to something or someone else.

Some people say that Yoshi looks like Tom Cruise.

Another Usage
